Frequently asked questions regarding study tours
Who can do a study tour?
Anyone and everyone! Individuals and groups from overseas colleges or universities wanting some study and travel during their vacation; groups from companies wanting to mix business and pleasure; social groups or clubs looking to learn some English but also indulge a passion such as tennis, golf or diving; and of course individuals who want a holiday with a difference.
We are also very experienced in organizing study tours for schools: parents and teachers can be certain their children will be expertly cared for – and given an incredible overseas experience they will remember for the rest of their lives!
What about visa requirements?
Easy. You can study for up to three months in Adelaide on a Visitor Visa or Working Holiday Visa.
How long does a study tour last?
The shortest study tours are usually a week; the longest study tours last for three months (the longest period you can stay on a Visitor Visa).
How much study? And how much touring?
Many of our study tour organizations invite you to choose as much or as little academic/touring content as you wish. Some programs have study in the morning and offer cultural or visiting programs in the afternoon and evening. Others offer intensive blocks of study (for instance, a week) followed by a similar amount of time on tour.
Where can I stay?
Study tour operators offer a range of accommodation, everything from luxury five-star hotels to hostels to university residences. If you are learning English, you might like a ‘homestay’, which means you live with a local family. This enables you to practice your English while enjoying life in an Australian home.
What about study tours for schools?
There are 80 government schools and numerous private schools in South Australia offering study tour programs. Groups of overseas students become part of their South Australian host-school. In that time, students of both schools learn together, spend their free time together, enjoy homestays and even tour together.
