Foundation

Adelaide is home to a number of excellent foundation colleges that will help you on your way to a university education. Generally, foundation courses run 20 hours a week for a full year, although you can undertake intensive courses to reduce the time it takes to get into your university course.

SAIBT

The South Australian Institute of Business and Technology (SAIBT) is highly focused on academic excellence. Australian and international students can undertake certificate and diploma programs leading to all undergraduate degrees at the University of South Australia, and pre-masters programs leading to post-graduate degrees in information technology.

  • Degree Transfer Pathways: providing a pathway in either Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics programs at UniSA
  • Pre-Masters Program in Information Technology: providing a pathway to UniSA's Master of IT and Master of Communications Technology Management
  • English Language Programs: Mixed English/academic program for international students with slight English language proficiency. Students with lower English language proficiency may need to attend CELUSA

With more than 600 students, Bradford College specializes in preparing international students for academic success at university. Since it opened in 2002, the institution has been a stepping stone for hundreds of international students wanting to study at the prestigious University of Adelaide.

Eynesbury International

Eynesbury International has an outstanding record of achievement, with a success rate of 96 per cent for graduates being accepted into university. Catering to both local and international students, the Eynesbury SA Universities' Foundation Studies Program is South Australia's oldest and provides a pathway to all three South Australian universities.

  • Pre-University Years 10, 11, 12: these three one-year programs are for students needing to gain their SACE qualifications

  • The South Australian Universities' Foundation Studies Program: Foundation students are enrolled as university students, and enjoy the facilities and services of both that institution and Eynesbury College
  • Degree Transfer Program (DTP): Successful students receive entry into Semester 2 of Year 1 at Flinders University
  • Eynesbury Institute of Business and Technology Programs: Certificate IV programs with streams in Nursing, Hospitality, Business and Information Technology, and Diploma programs in Business and Computing and Information Technology.
  • English Language: For students requiring preliminary English there are a range of ELICOS courses
