Muslim Women’s Association of South Australia

The Muslim Women’s Association helps to educate and inform the wider community about Muslims and their practices. It can also provide information about Halal food outlets, the location of Adelaide’s mosques, Islamic clothing outlets, Islamic schools and female Muslim doctors. Chinese Welfare Services of SA

Primarily a welfare advocacy group for South Australia’s Chinese Community the Chinese Welfare Services of SA also runs a range of activities from English language classes to opera singing and excursions.

Indian Australian Association of SA

Set up in 1967 by Indian immigrants to Adelaide, IAASA aims to promote Indian culture across South Australia. They run regular dinners for the local Indian community and a huge Indian festival each year at Elder Park in the city.

Vietnamese Community in Australia (SA Chapter)

Offering a huge range of programs, from welfare and education to arts and culture, the Vietnamese Community in Australia (SA Chapter) has a long and proud history. They also organise a range of festivals and events.

Korean Community of Adelaide

The Korean Community of Adelaide aims to unite new migrants and international students with members of South Australia’s Korean community. For more information, email Sung Kook Kwon.

Japan Australia Friendship Association

The Japan Australia Friendship Association aims to share and highlight the language, culture and people of Japan by promoting friendship and understanding through social and cultural interaction.

South Australian German Association

With German-born residents comprising 10 per cent of the South Australian population since the earliest days of settlement, the South Australian German Association actively promotes and fosters German culture, language and habits. An annual highlight is the Schutzenfest beer festival, held every January.

Migrant Resource Centre

The Migrant Resource Centre of South Australia offers a great range of services for migrants and refugees in South Australia. Assistance ranges from airport reception to help with finding permanent housing and access to the health sector. You will find the Migrant Resource Centre at 59 King William Street in Adelaide.
