During the Uni holidays I didn’t expect to find myself trailing through dense scrub, climbing over sand dunes and kayaking back to camp just after sunset in the Coorong with a bunch of students from America. After eating a traditional BBQ with tasty kangaroo, the night finished with watching the famous Aussie movie ‘The Castle’
Sleeping under the stars in our SWAGS was amazing – Really topped the night off!!!
We woke to tasty bacon and eggs and after Gordy the local indigenous guide took us on a bush walk. He taught us about all of the different plants and their medicinal properties, or how they were used in cooking or used for basket weaving and after we headed off to do some of our own.
I think the weather might hold out so I might be able to face the icy cold waters of the Great Southern Ocean on the weekend for a surf! Lets hope it holds out for hockey too as last week it was pretty cold running around in the rain – Lucky we won 2 – nil. Go the Blacks!!! Only 2 weeks till finals and we are already guaranteed a spot!!!
Cheers, Tori
